My report from our recent Regent Seven Seas cruise 6/18/2008 9:44:25 AM Link | | Add comment What I loved about my Regent Cruise
1. Each day for lunch and dinner they poured the special regional wines of the day. All this is complimentary. If you don’t care for those particular wines, they will bring you whatever you like. 2. One afternoon, we had the munchies, so I called room service. I was in the mood for a good shrimp cocktail. When I called room service, I asked them, “Could I get 2 shrimp cocktails”. The answer, “absolutely”. When asked if there will be anything else I asked for a cheese plate. Answer once again the answer was, “absolutely, it will be my pleasure”. 3. Room service was wonderful. Everything was served on white tablecloths with crystal. We ordered dinner one night in our suite and ate on the balcony. They even included a full bottle of my wife’s favorite wine. 4. When we first got to our suite we made our request to the cabin stewardess for our favorite spirit. Also complimentary. 5. The suite was beautiful as we first entered. There was a silver bucket with a bottle of Welcome Aboard champagne, a vase of fresh orchids, and a bowl of fresh fruit. 6. The fridge was stocked with sodas and beers. The cabin stewardess asked us if everything in the fridge was to our liking. We modified the beer and soda selection and it was restocked that way throughout the cruise. 7. They had several al fresco cookouts by the pool throughout the cruise. The selection and presentation was always wonderful. 8. The dining room was gorgeous. Each table was dressed with beautiful white tablecloths and napkins, with fine crystal, bone china and silver flatware. 9. The orange juice was to die for, freshly squeezed. I don’t know how many gallons I drank on our trip. 10. They still offer complimentary bottled water and use of umbrellas as you disembark at each port. 11. The pool area was great. We always had a chair available to use close to the pool. The pool attendants were great, they always made sure you had a cushion and took your beverage order as well. 12. You had asked me about the supplies in the washroom of the suite. Well you have everything you could want. Amenities include a shoeshine towel, a sewing kit, a shower cap, soaps, moisturizers, shampoo, conditioners and body gel. Aveda products were used onboard. 13. Self service laundromat. Very nice to have on a long cruise. The entire washers, dryers, detergent, and irons ironing boards are complimentary. 14. The library on the Voyager is very large, with a good selection. There is also a DVD library as well. The use of the DVD’s are complimentary, and you have a DVD player in your suite. 15. The fitness center even has a complimentary cooler filled with chilled bottles of water and Gatorade. 16. On the days they show movies in the main showroom, they set up a table in the back of the room with complimentary fresh popped popcorn and an assortment of beverages. 17. It was nice to top of a wonderful dinner and then go to the showroom and order a beverage without having to sign the tab each time. 18. If you want something special that is not on the menu you can order it 24 hours in advance and they will make it for you. I missed escargot one night because I ate in the specialty dining room that night. So I made a request for it and had it the next night in the main dining room. 19. We tried both specialty dining rooms twice. They were very good and I highly recommend that you try it too. One dining room is called Signatures. It’s a Cordon Bleu restaurant and the food, presentation and ambiance is very good. The other dining room is an Asian Fusion restaurant. It’s a mix of Chinese, Philippino and Thai cuisine….very, very good.
Well that’s about it for now. I need to leave something to your imagination.
